The pavilion is located in Soğuksu Neighborhood in the center of Trabzon. For this reason, there is no problem in terms of access to the pavilion.You can reach the mansion either by your own car or by the Pavılıon Buses or taxis offered by the municipality.
Ataturk Pavilion Visiting Hours
The Atatürk Pavilion is open every day of the week, but the summer and winter seasons are different.
Times are as follows :
– It is open to visitors between the dates of 15 October – 15 April between 8.00 – 17.00.
– It is open for visits between 8.00 – 19.00 between 15 April – 15
Trabzon Atatürk Pavilion History And Story
On the ridges of Soğuksu, which dominated Trabzon in the early 19th century, Located in the pine forests, this mansion was built by Konstantin Kabayanidis as a summer house. The building shows the influences of European and Western Renaissance architecture. On the ground floor there is a dining room, a relaxation room, a guest room and a living room. The first floor has a bedroom, a waiting room, a study and a meeting room. There are two rooms on the second floor.
Having made his first visit to Trabzon in 1924, Atatürk was accommodated in this mansion but was not accommodated. Atatürk, who came to Trabzon again in November 1930 for the second time, was entertained in the mansion and was very pleased. Afterwards, the pavilion was assigned to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Then a delegation from Trabzon handed over the deed and keys of the mansion to Atatürk.
Atatürk decided to present his assets to the Turkish nation and prepared a list of his assets and sent them to the Prime Minister for the necessity.
And he said:
“Goods and property give me weight. I will feel free to donate them to my nation. One’s wealth must be in his own spiritual personality. I want to give more things to my great nation.”
After all these events, this building was converted into a museum in 1943 as Atatürk Pavilion and opened to visitors.
